Students for Development Delhi Organizes Talk on Water & Sustainable Development

A talk titled “Water & Sustainable Development: Securing Our Future” was organized by Students for Development (SFD) Delhi on 24 March in Jawaharlal Nehru University. The event aimed to bring together experts and students to discuss the importance of sustainable development and its impact on water conservation, as well as to launch the Chandrabhaga lake and JNU cleaning campaign. The distinguished speakers for the event were Dr. Ashwini K Tiwari, Assistant Professor, School of Environmental Sciences, JNU and  Velentina Brahma, Media Secretary, Y20 India.

Dr. Ashwini K Tiwari spoke about the various aspects of water conservation, including the challenges faced in water management and the need for sustainable development to secure our future. He highlighted the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices in our daily lives and encouraged students to take up the cause of water conservation as a personal responsibility.

Velentina Brahma shared her insights on the role of media in promoting sustainable development and the importance of youth participation in achieving this goal. She stressed that the media has a critical role to play in raising awareness about environmental issues and advocating for sustainable practices.

Event organiser and SFD-Delhi’s State Convener, Manjul Panwar emphasized the need for collective action to address the pressing issue of water conservation. He thanked the speakers and the attendees for their participation and urged them to spread the message of sustainable development in their respective communities. The event aimed at promoting environmental sustainability on campus. The initiative was well received by the students and staff members, who pledged to support the cause of sustainable development and water conservation.
